In Tennessee, state law requires that motorists must make every reasonable effort to move disabled vehicles so as not to obstruct the regular flow of traffic, as long as the vehicle is drivable and there are no injuries. This brochure explains the benefits of quickly moving vehicles out of the way – this helps clear crashes quickly, reduces congestion, and improves safety conditions for all motorists and emergency responders. It also outlines the four simple steps motorists should take when they are involved in a minor traffic accident (assess, move it, notify, and report). In addition, the brochure includes motorist information exchange cards to make it easy for drivers to quickly exchange the right information on scene.
