In 2014, Cranberry Township, PA, produced and distributed a video detailing the cooperative efforts of the Township’s Public Works Department, Public Safety Department, and a cadre of state agencies and utilities to reopen Route 228 after a June 24, 2014, incident in which an unusual wind shear event brought down a string of utility poles and closed that key roadway between Route 19 and I-79. The relationships and progress from the local TIM Team activities are credited in the video as paying dividends.

This Team and several other TIM Teams in the region are facilitated by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission, the metropolitan planning organization that serves Pittsburgh and the 10 counties of the western and southwestern area of Pennsylvania. The TIM program collected data via a web-based After Action Review (AAR) survey and held a well-attended AAR meeting in July 2014 to discuss the incident response effort.
