FHWA’s Traffic Incident & Events Management (TI&EM) Knowledge Management System (KMS) is a national repository of traffic incident management (TIM) resources, good practices, lessons learned, and other tools. The purpose of the KMS is to provide useful information to TIM practitioners, as well as a method for practitioners to exchange a variety of resources, thus learning from each other.

While FHWA does review all KMS submissions from practitioners – and includes those it deems appropriate – this does not imply endorsement. The KMS website and other material and links provided or referenced herein are for informational purposes only and not offered nor should it be construed as legal, engineering, or other professional advice or as pertaining to your specific factual situation. If specific advice or expert assistance is required, the services of a competent professional person should be sought.

Through the act of submitting a resource to the KMS for approval, the submitter grants permission to FHWA to include the resource in the KMS.
